The android and Apple phones are getting deeper and deeper in to our lives today that I was not surprised to read that women now are turning away from the Pill and using their phones to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

The number of British users of an app called Natural Cycles has increased from 5,000 last year to 125,000 today. It tracks changes in body temperature to determine when sex is unlikely to result in pregnancy.

Figures suggest that demand for the Pill is falling, with users of NHS sexual health services who take it falling from 427,000 in 2014-15 to 385,000 in 2015-16. Jane Dickson, a consultant in sexual and reproductive healthcare at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, southeast London, told a local newspaper that she was aware of a feeling among women that they might be worried about using hormones so they are seeking nonhormonal methods.

The company behind the app, which costs £40 a year and has been found to be 93 per cent effective, on a par with diaphragms, says it is considering applying for approval to allow GPs and family planning clinics to prescribe it.

It is really great to know that an app is there now for a safe sex! But I warn ladies not to be tied down to apps too much because of radiation effect on reproduction system and to growing featus.

Perhaps the radiation will act as an additional effect to prevent pregnancy!
